Bedrock syrahs at Bazaar Meat (Chicago, IL): Dark, dense, and meaty. Slightly stemmy but with balanced acids and black fruit; it took a little while for this to really strut its stuff, and I liked it with more air, as the syrah aromatics really began to take hold. A bit on the heavier side with respect to the fruit, I'd have liked a little more lift, but this is nevertheless very impressive.

A little rough out of the gate - backwards, savory, and disjointed. Day two? So much better. Silky, nice balance of fruit and more earthy/savory elements, with a long finish. No idea whether that means there is life ahead, but for now, just decant.

Very full nose with figs, berries, soy, plum jam. So smooth on the palate the tannins are completely resolved, this has a great balance between fruit and savory notes and a nervy spine of acidity. This is special.

2010 Bedrock still has a few years left. Smooth. Some chocolate. Easy tannins suggest drink or hold. Drank this with Rosh Hashanah brisket.
