I'm not sure if this bottle was defective or went bad. It didn't taste like I expected. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good, either. I don't remember how I got this bottle; I didn't buy it, I know that.

Dark purple with a wide band of red around the rim. Enters mouth with a firm acid and tannin and pomegranate and red cherry fruit. Somewhat astringent texture, with no softening over 5 days open. Overall, a Nebbiolo lovers Pinot Noir.

This wine went from paler ruby to an invitingly dark color by the third day opened. The mouth features an unusually pure taste of bright acidity and red cherry fruit. On swallowing, there is a spike of sour cherry, followed by drying tannin that is lightly leafy, faintly bitter, and very good with vegetable soup. Surprisingly similar to some French red Burgundies.

Has no idea what to expect. Served with salmon. Really delicious. A bit fruity still but nicely complex. Hope to find more.
