This was quite nice. A bit mute and fizzy at first, but after about an hour of air and some swirling, it opened up: succulent cranberry, a bit tart, touch of earth. Thought this would be a bit more complex at this age but isn't so far off younger versions I've had.

I had a bottle last year that was disappointing -- seemed past its prime and like it had fallen apart. This bottle was much better -- showing well and I don't feel a rush to finish my remaining bottles, think we have a few years to see how it develops. That all said, I think this was probably best when it didn't have much bottle age.

From magnum. I took this to an industry party and it was drained fairly quickly. From my couple of sips, it's a gorgeous wine. Tart red fruit and minerality, excellent depth and concentration. Never heavy but plenty of ripe pomegranate and raspberry. Acidity too, well integrated but ever-present. Smooth, gentle finish kept things classy.

Aromas of crunchy red berry fruit, cranberry with baking spice and earth tones. Still young, but drinking quite well already. Good acidity on the palate with tart red fruit and lower tone earth and mineral notes. Good length. Gahier is simply a great producer; I've yet to have anything that I haven't enjoyed.
