  I had low expectations for this wine at 12 years old. I was wrong! The nose was a bit pruney at the start, but delicious to sip: black cherry and currants, then tobacco leaf. The wine opened in the glass after about 10 minutes. After an hour, it was still good, but the flavor had faded somewhat. So I do not recommend letting it sit too long in a decanter or in the glass

  This bottle was a gift. Sourced from hillside vineyards in the Knights Valley. My wife opened the bottle for me but I had the strength to pour a glass for myself. This Bordeaux blend was a crimson color. An earthy Cab. Notes of leather, black peppercorns and currants. This had a fine minerality. The tannins were in a good spot and the wine is still in it's drinking window. 89 points.

  Garnet is taking over and the balance is beautiful Cocoa fruit dominated the palate All good for another year.
