  • Popped and poured. Rich aroma of raspberry jam. Full bodied flavors of cherry, spice. Cola notes in the finish. Very New World flavor profile, but with tart acidity and great depth of flavor. Exceptionally well balanced.

I was meh on this at first, but it got better with each sip.

  • Disclaimer: I am being far too harsh in hoping that this wine be like a Burgundy on some level. I have a hard time imagining anyone missing the fruit here...it still shows that inescapable jammy, cola aroma that most domestic Pinot Noir does, which always makes me wonder if it's something indigenous to CA or OR, or maybe drip irrigation, plus maybe some rootstock or clonal thing, or, if it's simply grower's choice vis à vis ripeness levels at picking. To me, this is a pretty quaffer, with some riper, larger aromas (like cola and jammy strawberry and dark cherry), alongside some cooler aromas, say rose petals and unripe plum, which linger in the background. Those two last elements prove a saving grace that allow me to continue drinking. Wonder if this is a blend of parcels which ripened differently? Anyhow: respect to Kenny the winemaker, as this blows the balls off of so many stickier, hotter, shoddier domestic PNs. That this wine has any sense whatsoever of leanness is an accomplishment..that it's enjoyable at $20 to start off with is already killing it vs so much crap out there.

  • Day 2. Dark red fruit, earth, lead pencil. Very soft edges. The acid sneaks up on you. Pectin. Waxy.

  • Red fruit on the nose, soft, juicy and light-bodied on the palate, this wine tastes more like a Louis Jadot Burgandy than a West Cost Pinot. A perfectly good quaff for a relaxing evening.

  • I had higher hopes for this. Nose and palate were anemic and tasted as if diluted. I was disappointed with the lack of fruit.
