  • I like to age certain Muscadets, and this was one of my experiments. Generally I find the sharper and more acidic the better -after 10-15 years they mellow into warm rich round little things that can be just wonderful. While this wasn't one of them -per earlier comments I think it had it's edges smoothed a little too much for 15+ aging, nevertheless it was nice. Creamy toffee on the nose and palate, fairly clean, if somewhat vague, finish. Held up well into the second day.

  • Poured into a chilling carafe upon opening, cork was pristine. Richer and weightier than expected, probably has seen lots of exposure to the lees and maybe some neutral oak. Medium straw color. Not very expressive nor aromatic. Stylistically different from most Melon de Bourgogne's which I have enjoyed in the past, primarily in that it lacks high acidity and tartness, and is instead very creamy and rounded in the mouth. Displays flavors of lightly salted buttered popcorn, and lemon meringue. Very unimpressive finish. Probably would not purchase again, although this producers "standard" bottlings are better and fresher in style.

  • This was a very nice Muscadet, not too sharp

  • Nice change of pace Muscadet as I'm pretty sure it has a little new wood. Though it still had the characteristics of a more traditional bottle, the wood added a more rounder edge, I'm pretty sure if I was served this blind I would have guessed a village level white burg. Nice wine and easy to drink. Best at just below room temp.

  • Clear light yellow. Fresh nose with aromas of sea air and citrus. Crisp balance of fruit and clean acid on the palate with a nice medium finish. Just what you want in a Muscadet ... if only I had some Sydney rock oysters right now!
