Still a young wine - petrol, limestone, limes and oranges on the nose. Very mineral laden palate, with petrol and a hint of orange blossom on the attack, with a nice sweet acidic finish. A really fine American riesling. I don't know how much this will improve with age, but I think it will certainly maintain its current high level for at least another decade.
Tasted at the winery in February of 2006 with Charlie Smith. Firm mineral core. Orange zest. Suggestion of petrol. Consumed this bottle in March of 2010. Citrus zest and something a bit more floral on the nose, wonderfully complex. Ripe, sweet orange and tangelo fruit on the palate. The next day the wine showed even better. Rounder with a definite apple note. An amazing wine. Charlie said this might be a 20 to 25 year wine. I ought to have waited longer than eight.
