  One-hour or so decant. Wine was clear. Deep garnet in bowl getting lighter to the rim, but no amber. Wonderful nose of blackberry, some bamboo and a little barnyard (it blew off soon after pouring). Earthy flavors, coffee, some red fruit and cedar. Long finish. Just a tiny bit thin in the mid-palate. Delicious with duck breast! I had some concerns about the wine's continued vitality, but the drinking experience showed those fears to be unjustified.

  Much better than the bottle I had 3 years ago. It has softened as I hoped it would. Cherries, cherry pits., vanilla, dirt, mushrooms. Quite nice. Good balance and nice finish.

  Two hour decant. Blackberry, spices, and some funky aromas. Lots of Asian spice and cranberry on the palate. Still lots of tannins and acidity. Needs to soften to really come around. I think that this needs a couple more years. Could add a few points then.
