  • The bottle suffered from traveling , I bought it 5 years ago and it was on a auction , god knows where the bottle came from , but it was almost perfect except the structure in the glass , a little bit cloudy , the nose was great nothing “terretiare “ or really old , but still some sweet and leather also Tabacco , also the pallet had still some power ! But I drunk a better bottle 6 years ago and was one of my best Rhône moments ever ! So a little disappointed because great expectations but more then ok ! The other glass was a mouline 1988 and that bottle was real razor sharp in nose and mouth , also the color was near to perfect and still young , it came out of the cellar from who bought it 35 years ago and it will last another 20 years , what a bottle ! 99/100 Probably in the beginning a less better bottle the landonne 85 , but much better conservation and to drink now ! But still happy to drink both of those wines :)

  • blind, together with Monte Bello 85 and La Landonne 85
I guessed the common ground was the grape variety namely Syrah but I was only one third was correct. For me by far the best wine in this flight. I had no idea of the vintage but one in the group guessed right. Spicy, powerful but still closed so no rush to empty the bottles. Some earthy and black cherry notes. 97-98

  • Holy Moly! What a wine!!! La Landonne takes the longest to come around of the three La La wines, but it is worth the wait. Loaded with iron, earth, smoke, crushed stone, pepper, dark cherry, blackberry and red plum liqueur, this is one of those compelling wines. Full-bodied and intense, the wine coats your palate with waves of smoky fruit, freshness and power. The seamless finish hangs with you for well over 60 seconds. Not all of the pricey wines are worth the price of the ticket. This one is!
