Deep garnet in the glass. Aroma is drinkable itself, and it's clear that this is Anderson Valley fruit. You can smell the sun and soil in every sip. On the taste side, look for lots of dark fruit and pepper. The tannins have settled out since my last bottle four years ago, but still have room to soften. A long finish and still evident tannins tell me that this vintage has another 5-6 years of life in it.

Tasty and pleasant enough as a sipper before dinner from a pop n pour, but at first taste a bit thin on the back end. With a simple rosemary roasted pork loin and a bit more air time, its perking up considerably - the fruit hasn't taken on any weight, but the balance and structure seem to be improving.

Still drinking well. Tannins fading a bit. Still a great glass of wine and QPR.

Bold wine with dark fruit flavors, white pepper and chocolate notes. Balanced and lightly tannic.
