a beautiful old lady... this was fully aged with medium body, elegance and easy-drinking demeanor, fruit almost taking a back seat to the med acidity - which provided the perfect lift, and the minerals and dry earth on the palate... drink now / next 5 years (at least based on this bottle), not for those who prefer "fruit fwd"

In a peak drinking window with characteristically charming and lush 2002 red cherry fruit. Layered aromas with loads of dried earth and florals adding complexity. Showing excellent mineral complexity of the terroir. A wow finish.

Fully mature and probably won't benefit from more aging. It does require a lot of decanting to open up. Notes of strawberry and caramel, soft structure, but still fresh. An extraordinary thing about this wine is how much it changes after ~3 hours of decanting. It starts a bit closed; then, opens up on the nose; and with more decanting starts giving an impression of much younger wine with aromas of strawberry and racy acidity...

Stunning! This wine definitely needs a long decant - 4 hours would suit this right now. At first an overwhelming cherry bomb on the palate that settles down after time. Developed some hints of spice and fruit toned back after several hours. Great stuff that still has at least 8 - 10 years ahead of it.

Another beautiful wine in a good place right now, but with lots of life remaining. Went perfectly with a sturgeon in red wine sauce with lentils.
