Clear light brown with just a hint of red. Dried fig, freshly turned soil, brown sugar and dried cherry. Sweet earthy dried cranberry and earth flavours and a sweet tannic finish. I really liked this. Quite balanced.

Luis Tilia WTDS plus Happy Birthday to Gary and Me (Tilia): Unknown if this was opened beforehand, but it probably should have been. There was a fair amount of alcohol here. If you're not discriminating, this might be ok, but I am, as was everyone at our table, so this was not well received. A lot of alcohol, just a touch of caramelization, oxidation and red fruit. If it was just opened, it might have benefited from being slow o'd for several hours. I think this port was just in a bad spot tonight, it would probably show better with better treatment.
Pretty deep red. Lots of great fruit here, cherry and raspberry. Delicious to drink as well. In fact I couldn't really resist having a few more pours. Really nice.

The odds of this being good was foreshadowed by the cork crumbling as I removed it. I ended up having to strain this through an unbleached coffee filter. This wine is not very enjoyable upon initial opening. Another reviewer indicated medicinal and hot and that pretty much sums this up. I'll wait and see if this gets better with some air, but right now I'm leaning on dumping this.
I can't bear to drink wine like this when there are so many other good bottles.
