I am in the minority on the 2004's and I enjoy them. This wine is what I expected from Briailles for this vintage. They are typically austere wines and if you like the style and "balance" then this wine will be enjoyable. If you like extracted and fruity wines it is not for you.
previous review tasting notes pretty accurate (sharp green, pepper, etc) although i'd say it wasn't enjoyable and bordered on undrinkable; terrible on the pop and pour; decanted and tasted over 5 hours and it didn't improve much; extremely disapointing for a 1er
Although this has the signature of a 2004, it is not dominated by it. There is a touch of the green but more light red berries underlying white pepper and juniper, with the berries coming through again on a surprisingly long finish. The attack is a bit rough but softens with time in the glass. Overall this interesting, different, and enjoyable but not great. If I we're naive to the 2004 stigma I might not have noticed.
