I have tasted several Malbecs better than this, at the same price point.
Day 1 - Average at best. Simple. Smooth. Mild. Very mild bouquet initially, then began to open up with earthy (stone), vegetable, plum, and peach - the same with taste. Did not stand up to or really accentuate spicy food (smoked spicy sausage). Moderate with smoked tri-tip - developed a minor sweet finish. Better with pungent and sweet foods (gruyere cheese, salad with carrots and feta cheese) - accentuated pungent flavors.
Day 2 - No difference. Paired with smoked spicy sausage with pasta in red Italian marinara sauce with tomatoes - wine was average with the sauce but was overwhelmed by the sausage. Not good with chocolate.

Had with dinner at Gumbo's. Dark purple color. A fair amount of fruit on the aroma and taste, but not much else. Pretty one dimensional without any tannins and very little finish. In other news, the redfish was great.

Nothing jumped out at me. Was better on the second day. Better Malbecs out there.
