  • Why Liberty School isn't a more expensive label is beyond me? It's a relatively inexpensive Cab, but over the years I have always been amazed at how well it keeps. And this 1998 did not disappoint. Still fruity, still jammy, perhaps a bit less tannic, but overall a very enjoyable bottle. I wish I had another to drink in a year.

  • A bottle from one of my first big wine trips to Paso. It had a long road, it was gifted to someone in 2000 or so, then in a grand faux pax regifted back to us. Certainly not well kept. But finally cracked it. Surprise it was Cab on the nose. A bit browning on the edges in the glass. Spice, plum, some tobacco. Very smooth mouth with some nice red fruit and more spice. Thinned out quite a bit on the finish. But a smooth and surprisingly enjoyable drink.
