Marsannay @ Vinotecca (Vinoteca, Smithfield, London): Really quite mute and slightly lactic on the nose. Seems to take on the aromas of the food in a way the others don't. Quite tight and acidic. Pretty tightly shut I think, unusually for an 07. Nice line and purity though, but come back later. *(**)

Maybe an off bottle. Rustic and very acidic. Good fruit (not fresh, but pleasant). Some wood at the beginning, but soon faded. An ok wine, no big deal.

(at Empire State South - Atlanta) A very pleasant wine that was good value. A bit earthy and metallic, but more than enough red fruit to balance things out. Not long, but enjoyable. (87)

Random Notes from Travels in France; 4/6/2012-4/14/2012 (Paris, Loire, Alsace): I was served this blind and was correct on the vintage due to the racy acidity but misfired with Savigny or Pernand because of its brambly red fruit and licorice. It is slightly bigger than most of those wines, though. Very crisp, impressive depth. A few more years will tone down the acidity, but a pretty zesty drink now.
