It needed time to release its full aromas of wild dark fruits, very meat, bacon fat, black pepper. Fresh palate, quite high acidity, medium finish. A great bottle

Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75): Thick, dark color; nose screams N. Rhone, black pepper, tapenade, brine, granite, plum, wild berry, a little rustic; palate is rich and thicker with slightly rougher tannin than normal velvet- stems?, mineral, tart dark berry, shrill acid that comes out with air and becomes almost vinegary; more balanced than last bottle but the air quickly brought out this unwanted character.

Very distinguishable as Northern Rhone syrah. Promising nose of plush blueberry and plum with violets and black olive. The palate is a different story- same flavors from the nose, but the vinegar kicks in midway through with sour acidity. Called it blind.

Tuesday Night Double Blind <$30 (Bin 75): Briny vinegar and lemon like acidity makes this very hard to drink, some black pepper; nailed it blind again.
