  Pale garnet in the glass. Tart red berries, strawberry, raspberry, sour cherry, and cranberry. There's a dusty quality to the wine with dried herbs, thyme, rosemary, and bay. Earthy characteristic of mushrooms, sone fermented grass, and a touch of barnyard. Tannins have softened with time yet acidity remains fresh.

  Found mold and rust under the capsule and cleaned it carefully for a few minutes. All signs of good preservation. The cork itself gave a bit of trouble, came out in two pieces without touching the nectar inside. What was inside is the turning point for any wine drinker. It feels like a discovery, like drinking pinot noir for the first time. The nose of violets, game and wet leather were so potent and delicate at the same time. On the palate it was silky smooth. The texture of chocolate ganache. And the finish, I woke up with it the next morning.
  Oh Burgundy, it is for bottles like this that I forgive your irregularity. For when you succeed you always take gold. There is just no second place for you!
