PNP. Beautiful tertiary nose with tobacco, caramel, dark and dried fruit. Savory on the palate, soft with some prune. Beautiful, aged Claret. Drink up.

We decanted and then drank this wine over a period of 3-4 hours and this vintage of Pavie improved the whole time. An additional hour of decanting would probably have been beneficial. Nice fruite, impecable balance and so on, but I have had better Bordeaux-wines from 83. 92-93 pts. Perfectly cellared since release.

Saturated and, ultimately, split cork meant into the decanter for this old dog. Earthy, leathery, slightly oxidised, biscuit, plenty of meaty savoury spice. In the mouth it's juicy, fleshy and, with time, still some drying tannic but that sucks the moisture from the tongue and gums. My experience with older Right Bank wines is extremely limited but this is still beautifully structured and just about drinkable...just tastes (and smells) old...

Aggressively shit on the nose. Still a bit tart and wound up on the palate - not sure what’s going on with this one. Part of an 83 tasting.

A little bit tired (provenance?) but enjoyable none the less. Still quite powerful, but best with something bland, maybe roast beef or lamb. Drink up!
