This is still a pleasant wine but it has definitely started downhill from a few years ago. The fruit is mostly gone with just faint plum. The flavor is now mostly earthy notes of forest floor, spice, currents and some leather. The finish is still moderately long with eucalyptus at the end. However over the last few years the wonderful balance has been lost with the acidity a little more pronounced than it should be. After a couple of hours the wine has become a little more disjointed. Clearly on the downside. However if you still have a bottle laying around you will probably still enjoy it. But anything left needs to be drunk now.

Drinking really well right now. Guessed Cab blind. You really have to let these Pride wines age, great reward…

Was beautiful with deep dark fruit. Would never guess it was a2001 nor that it was a merlot

Drank blind against other Cabs did well but not quite as complex. Still valid after 19 years
