Developing -slowly- somewhat like a good Gigondas, although lacking that granite minerality. This is darker fruited, deeper textured, and substantial although not so much as a good CdP comprised of Mouvedre. Soft aromatics of curing meats & earth. More than adequate with rare, pan roasted duck breast & dark cherry glaze, with shitake mushrooms. I've had several of these, and -do- note some bottle variation. Best years are still ahead for good bottles in proper cellars.

Last of a generation; the ultimate house wine (as I've noted many times). Parker was off on whatever points he gave (high 90s as I recall), but at $15-20/btl, even in the day, this was an amazing value. Just great flavors and complexity going on without overwhelming tannins and maintained its plateau for over 10 years. What's not to like. Still going strong, but drink 'em if you have 'em.

Still the ultimate weeknight house wine. Good profile across the board and easy to drink. Holding strong, but don't wait.

Down a bit from the last bottle. Not as tightly integrated. Still a fine wine.
