Cantalupo Aged Nebbiolo Masters (NY Vintners): From a magnum. After dinner drink to enjoy as we were all catching up. Burgundy is just hard for me. Based on the price point of this wine I’d expect it to be really good and this is more just in the solid place. Reminds me honestly of the complexity of a good table wine. It drinks fine, but I wouldn’t seek it out.

Dried cherry, wood smoke, moss, mushrooms and floral notes lead to a smooth texture. Near perfect balance with a long finish. Tangy aftertaste. Great acidity. Drink now.

Mature brick with a deep center and a browning rim. Mature fruit and spice on the bold and comforting nose. Wonderful sense of balance among the elements. Robust and special wine drunk at the perfect time. These is still a bit of tannin present which nicely balances the deep flavored and serious fruit elements while many secondary earthy elements are also present. A winner. (93) There is more than enough stuffing in this bottle to cover any heavy handedness in the cellar (I don't see this - just reacting to others comments). A beautiful bottle at peak maturity.

Good, not great showing. Lean, fruit was a bit browned, not totally tired, but not inspiring either. Funky. Extra credit considering we drank it on Xmas Eve.
