Single glass. Tasted at Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa, FL. Saffron, saffron, and more saffron. Then fruit of quince, apple and cider along with smoke, honey and fresh herbs. The palate has a slightly creamy texture and ok acidity. A good sauternes, nicely aged, but a below-average vintage for Yquem.

Gorgeous. Honeyed citrus nose showing an incredible steely, fresh, subtle salinity — reminiscent of early morning air by the sea. Plenty of dense saffron up front with dried peaches, and apricots. Nuttiness and silky rich sweetness on the palate, balanced by a light acid component. Really pretty.

Popped and poured. Dark amber with a yellow rim. Excellent nose with its best trait being impeccable balance. Walnut bouquet. Sweet caramel in the mouth. At 28 this is fantastic. Long, rich, mahogany finish. Really goes on forever. This is really special, and I bet it only gets better with a bit of air. Wow, at $60 purchase price this was a bargain. 4-13-18-9: 94/100.
This wine was very fresh and fruity with a touch of honeysuckle and a hint of sweet, mild honey. An undertone flavor reminiscent of fresh wildflowers was present. There were notes of tangerine and a bit of orange marmalade. An unmistakable hint of dried apricots and raisins were in the background. It was very smooth with no harshness. Although sweet and rich, the sweetness was fresh and not overpowering. Although a still wine, it reminded me more of a very rare and elite champagne. This is without a doubt one of the very finest wines I have ever tasted.
