Still big and bold, but the tannins have aged to an approachable level and the fruit is still very fresh. I thought this would have gone downhill at this point but I’d say it’s at peak and would hold for 5 more years.

Opened via Coravin to pair with red-wine braised oxtail. Mushrooms, dirt, red meat on the nose. Strong fruity attack, elegant mid-palate, medium finish. Medium acidity and tannins. Better than expected at this age. Good with the food.

Popped and poured. Nose of cherry, raspberry, chocolate and spice. Black and red fruit, chocolate, black licorice and spice on the palate. Long finish. Full bodied. Good QPR. Served with baked ham.

Gobs of delicious black fruit with touch of earth, wet decomposing leaves and long mineral spicey finish.
Absolute aged value.
