This was garnet coloured but very murky. A pop & pour, it was a little reticent upon opening but after 30 minutes really came out of it's shell. The nose was a melange of dark fruits, meats, earth, and funk. Medium weight and savoury flavours of dried fruits, plums and leather, nuts and salted caramel. Held up very well over the course of a few hours.
Pleasant, but light, with good quality fruit, complex, peppery aromatics and a finish that moves from sweet to tart. Drink soon. Better in the in the nose, than on the palate, this is not a vintage to age.
Fabulous nose of animal fur, old wood, roasted game and forest floor. Perfectly mature and still retaining a wonderful richness and intensity of flavor which reminded me of a wild, dark forest. Builds to a great, complex finish with notes of char, smoky game and fallen trees (using my imagination here!). Just a decadent, authentic bottle of wine that is unique and true to its terroir. Wow!
