Sampled at Oinoscent in the morning, from a decanter that was left from last night The wine shows fully deeloped brick red color, quite hazy. THe wine shows medium intensity, earthy, forrest floor, dried red cherry, red currant, olive paste, a bit gamey, leathery, pot pouri, chocolate notes. The wine is lean in the palate, earthy and dusty, dried red fruit, no tannins, medium acidity (that feels higher due to the absence of the rest), short coffee flavoured finish. Although it was pleasant in the nose, the palate feels way past its time. Still, always fun to try old wines

Popped and poured. Pleasant nose with tobacco, herbs, a little fruit. The palate is decent with black currant, tobacco, lead pencil and underbrush. There is a lack of fruit and vigour through as this seems to be in a state of decline.

Sous bois, green pepper, tobacco, earth, smoke and leaf. It blossomed in the glass with silky sweet red fruit. At its absolute peak. A lot of enjoyment.

Served Double Blind at Ted's house in Ft. Collins. Light, pinkish color, exotic nose of red fruits, smoke, and a vague hint of Bordeauxishness. Really interesting wine at 34 years, still very lively but absolutely resolved and mature though seemingly immortal. I will nonetheless find a reason to open my one remaining bottle sooner than later. Smooth as silk with nary a rough edge to be found, overtly smoky on the palate, almost Pinot like body and mouthfeel. Very nice finish.

Strong smoke and black cherries, cigar box... A bit volatile acidity, but loads of leather and tobacco, light on it's feet, on the descent...
