Beautiful purple black with no brown at the edge. Musty nose with oak and leather. Very dry with little tanin left. Dark ripe fruit but subtle. Medium complexity. Overall reasonably balanced. As always a well made wine. However, at this price point I do not consider it a value. Lots of options for the money.

What a bargain this was. Over the years it has gained weight and complexity. All the edges have been smoothed out, yet the wine remains full of life. Rich and creamy mouthfeel highlights currants, cedar, tobacco, toasted brioche and chocolate. Long finish.

Still a young colour but nose is showing a lovely maturity. Hints of dried fruit (figs?) and maybe some camphor and hints of cedar. Palate is beautifully balanced. Still some tannin to give structure and a smooth elegant finish.

The additional years certainly helped this wine. Much more balanced, nuanced with age. Plenty of fruit, but not over-extracted. Still showing plums and blackberries, with cedar, tobacco, sweet cherries, currants and a bit of camphor. The finish was long and complemented the lush and silky mouthfeel. This is probably at plateau, but definitely not on the downslope.

Surprisingly disappointing. Surely doesn't suck, but fell a little flat on the expectations.
Tannins disjointed, fruit a bit cooked. Did not stand up. Oh well! Still drank it and pulled some intrigue out of it, but it was a chore.
