  • Chocolate covered cherries, killer acid, super ripe cherries and some blueberries. A bit of tobacco. Bad notes bc this was the fourth of the night but damn. This is killer juice. Super Tuscans stay fuckin super.

  • Served blind, I called 2005 left bank BDX.

Nose showed that classic red and dark fruits that are drying and layered. Had some leathery earthy background as well. Absolutely classic bordelaise varietal nose with age. Palate was very much of the same, and showed some tobacco as it aired out. Full bodied, nice acidity, tannins still providing great structure. There was a lot of fresh red fruits to the palate, even a bit of herb. Finish was long and full. Great minerality.

Was pretty shocked to see this at 07 super tuscan. In hindsight, it had this freshness that I typically associate with Italy, but I just couldn't not call 05 left bank.

Drinks beautifully now. I'd recommend a 60-90 min decant.

  • Really firing on all cylinders after 30mins of air and 30mins in the bottle. Black fruits, star anise, pyrazine, minerals then a pretty full bodied palate with great acid and a touch of fine tannin on the finish. Very well made wine and much better than I was expecting given some reviews. Might have mistaken this for left bank bdx if not for a bit of ripeness and heaviness on the palate.

  • Mildly red brick, cedar, graphite, and underbrush on the nose. Black cherry, herbs, tart blackberry, evolved tannins and a long and lovely finish. Just a touch of heat mid palate.
