Romanée-Conti v. La Tâche: Similar to the '93 La Tâche with that echinacea note up front but with a little more red cherry in addition to the cranberry and some cherry blossom too. A little more fleshy and showy so guessed La Tâche. Intriguing nose with a good degree of expression. Far superior palate with mature red and black cherry. Incredible balance and a long finish.

The 1993 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti looked a little green in this line up and showed some oak on the nose. It settled down in the glass and unfurled to show off its cool fruit personality. It was lightly stalky with some freshly grated ginger notes. It had a sweet heart of red fruits and finished with plenty of earthy grip.

Bottle No. 02649/3600
I got this bottle from Switzerland.
Nose is nicely opened with typical RC smell, hints of mild woody scent in an austere style.
Well balance with RC spice, good structure, delicious, beautiful woody finished.
2 layers aftertaste, very good but nothing special when compares with the next following wine...1993...
...Cros Parantoux...Henri Jayer... (half price of RC but double in happiness)
Drink now - 2035..............93-94/100....................
** For DRC we pay for the label, For Henri Jayer we pay for the wine and beyond **
