  • “Ready to go” style nose which marks a mature Bordeaux: cigar, leather, undergrowth, plum and a little smoke.

Beautiful attack on the palate where the 25% Merlot acts as a shock absorber. It’s flattering on a black fruit with a nice grain on the palate. Then the cabernet takes over with a little pepper, spices, leather and dried herbs. Good balance but the acidity will have a little difficulty in relaunching the wine over the course of the tasting. Good finish on the undergrowth, dried leaves and discreet cedar on a correct length. The wine will still tend to decline towards the end.

Good Bordeaux but lacking breath in the second half of the mouth.

  • So fresh and young after 25 years, in a blind tasting the vintage was estimated at 2006 / 2013. Plum, prune, leather, soft oak, blackcurrant, smoke, soft coffee, medium plus body, fruity dry finish - 93. Q-crew Poell event V&F.

  • Drinking very well although probably heading towards the other side of its peak. Smooth and integrated. Plenty of plummy fruit, spice and tobacco.

  • Deep core of intense black cabernet fruits, dark ruby in colour, nose of dried herbs and occasionally, fresh mint, a hint of mineral spice, and a little smell of the sea, showing some sort of complexity. Rather smooth on the palate!

  • Savory and resolved, this retains an aura of power and concentration throughout. Lovely bouquet and flavors of black cherries, earth, forest floor, leather, and licorice. Shows impressive structure and composure, with very fine and understated tannins, and a refreshing streak of minerality. This is still drinking nicely.
