grilled lamb chops and good wines on a Sunday afternoon (Stockholm): Such a serious wine. At first there is a whiff of something rustic, unclean, but it blows off after some time in the decanter. Has that full bodied, powerful sweet enticing grenache feel, but also much more serious structure and dry spicy licorice side. And the freshness to last a long time. This will only become better with time.
Served blind to a few vinous friends over a business dinner. Medium-dark ruby. Expressive nose of dark and red fruit with a note of black tea and an animalic touch, which is the house style. Medium+ bodied palate with the famous freshness of the 2010 vintage, very long and complex finish. This is a wine of character, like Appenzell cheese. Decant for 1+h or wait another 2 years before serving. Great CDP, can't wait to open my Da Capos.
Drank from 500ml (which should be a more common format). While this wine needs a least another five years in the bottle, it is jam packed with potential. Classic nose with a deep rich palate. Right now it's all fruit but other tasty stuff will emerge with time.
Color: dark red Nose: ripe red & black fruits, shy Palate: tannic still but good balance, dark fruits, this Pegau is built for the long haul, an excellent Pegau that will be better in few years time when all the components come together Rating:92 now easily 94/95 with few more years
