decanted at noon, tried on the pnp -- pretty thin and elegant, not bad in any way but just very little body with high acidity (and I like them subtle)... probably would have given it a 90 at that point, tried again in 30 minutes and much the same, then opened at our dinner (7 hours later) and WOW... this thing was almost full bodied then but still able to hold its elegance, tons of umami flavor with the fruit almost being overwhelmed, but not quite... FANTASTIC... I rarely give a 95 (96 I think is my highest rating ever) but this bottle blew my socks off... can only hope my last bottle will be the same

@ Wu’s Wonton King NYC. Very good bottle with perfect cork. Cloudy light ruby color, extremely earthy nose but with still strong secondary fruit/preserves, medium-long finish, velvety resolved tannins. Very nice and lucky to have gotten a good bottle from auction.

(SYP) opened 3 hours ago A restrained nose of spices, red fruit, cotton candy, sous bois and dried tea leaves. Also a whiff of soy sauce and for a while, prominent herbs. It was angular and slightly rustic on the palate. The acidity was unintegrated, and there was noticeable alcohol heat. A let-down compared with a bottle I tasted a few months ago that was from the same batch. Big bottle variation here.

(Mommessin Clos de Tart) Medium bricking rust red color with clear meniscus; lovely, mature, subtle tobacco, truffle, mushroom and baked strawberry nose; delicious, mature, strawberry, baked strawberry, mineral and sous bois palate; long finish
(Mommessin Clos de Tart) Medium brick red with pale meniscus; lovely mature Burgundy nose with ripe cherry, caramel and soy sauce; very tasty, mature but solid, tart cherry, with depth and minerality, nice, sweet Burg flavor; medium-plus finish 94+ pts.
