  • Echoing some previous notes, this wine just isn't all there yet. Either it's not ever getting there or its dormant stage is prolonged. Smells of mint and anise and herbs. Strong color, shows no fade. Palate is rather cool, angular, and marked by tart red fruit. The palate falls flat, not bad, just not exciting. Decanted for 30 mins and after an hour, the fruit sweetens and fattens up a bit, but there's no real personality to the palate. It's decent, but that's it.

  • Color: Brick Ruby
Smell: Dried red fruits and potpourri with notes of earth and dried flowers
Taste: Dried red fruits, mushrooms, and spices
Overall: This is a wine that seems like it's 5-10 years from peak. Right now it tastes old...tannins seemed partially resolved. Medium tannin, medium acid, med- fruit, and a wine that's not doing too bad right now. However, I'm not excited about it. Very good - excellent.

  • Much better than previous bottle. Enjoyed over a game of Clue on Halloween 2012 in our powerless home (thanks Sandy) with neighbors.

  • Took some time, a good hour, after opening to see it's stuff. It's got some stuff, but falls short of being memorable. Almost feels like it's either coming out of or going into a dormancy stage.
