Good deep color. Too tart for my taste. Makes my nose wrinkle with every sip and that's not a good thing. I'm going to let it breathe for awhile and see if it improves. Right now I'd describe it as repelling. 6/19/2012: No improvement. I poured it down the drain.

Inky purple, ruby rim. Cherries, cassis, blackberries, chocolate, bay leaf, and earth on the nose and mouth. Brisk, juicy, if a tad dry, with a back note of vanilla segueing into the dry, coffee finish.

(Da Vinci Chianti Riserva) Dark ruby color; nice dried berry, tar, lifted black fruit nose; tasty, tart black fruit, tar palate with medium acidity; medium finish (w/10% Merlot)

Really enjoyed this bottle. Nicely aged, meaty Sangiovese nose, good mouthfeel but a bit tannic finish. Still, would love to have more of this wine.
