Pausing for the Cause 2022 (Chicago, IL): From magnum. I was very excited to try this wine ever since I read about this in a recent Gilman issue, so lucky for me to be able to taste it so soon. Surprisingly pyrazine heavy, but with good acidity and some meaty notes as well. I think I liked this more than others at the table, and might have called this a ripe Loire if served blind.

Decanted about an hour before tasting over the following 2 hours. Smokey nose with dark fruit and some spicy richness. Palate was dark fruited and nicely textured and rather long on the finish. Solid, well made and satisfying but not quite to the ;level of very remarkable or memorable.

Occational dinner group; Il Caberlot tasting. (Mei Wah): In the bouquet red and dark berries and some dusty and autumn impressions. On the palategood acidity, juicy red berries, round and friendly tannin. Overall a really beautiful and juicy wine in its young maturity stage. A great pleasure now. 94 – 95

Wine & Barbecue (@Private location): Glass: Gabriel Universal From Magnum (obviously). Half of the bottle decanted for about 1-2h. Still very young but pleasantly to drink: Silky, velvety tannin, very fresh due to the medium+, well integrated acidity. Lots of spices and complexity, long finish. Potential of further development for 10+ years. 93-94

3 hr decant. Very deep red with fairly resolved tannins, the CF element gave wine that energy and lift that makes this so unique. Long finish.
