As lovely as during last tasting. The most amazing feature of this effort is the fruit. It is so expressive, yet very delicate and has an almost subtle way of exposing itself. There are red currant, cherry and lovely lime zest but also the very typical tones of lava and earth. All combined into a stunning whole. The palate adds nicely to the overall experience with perfect balance, but still rather harsh silky tannins. I am confident the wine will integrate even better with time. The length on the finish lasts som 50 seconds and adds that little extra oohmpff. An amazing wine!
Consumed across two days. On the first day it was tight, tight, tight. Really quite austere but smokey and loaded with minerals. On the second day it really unfolded to show much more depth of fruit with zingy acidity. These wines are really just fantastically fresh and delicious with sneaky complexity.
G5 - Variety is the Spice of Life (Juliette): Blind. This sat out all day and was still very wrapped up. Color reminded me of a Pinot noir and the fruit was red. The wine is very coarse and significant complexity. Very interesting and I enjoyed it. Medium plus finish with the oak showing as light coffee. Advice, if drinking now then open the night before. No fear of this wine falling apart.
