During a Confrerie dinner. This was the weakest red in the flight. Dark fruit, chocolate, concentrated. Feels pushed and commercial. Part may be the vintage, part for sure the producer. Perfectly drinkable but nothing to waste your money on as it still commands Burg Grand Cru pricing...

Wildman Tasting at Peninsula (Chicago, IL): Very much closed and brooding right now. Darker toned fruit on the nose, but there's still that very primary "new wine smell". Tons of chewy tannins on a very dense palate. Quite a few vegetal notes as well, and I was very surprised to learn that the wine was 100% destemmed.

Really hard to judge this right now as it is almost completely closed down. Digging deep you can find blueberry, pie crust and heady spice but the tannins are still very rigid and overbearing. One for the back of the cellar.

Wildman New Release Burgundy Tasting (Trump International Hotel - Chicago IL): Tasting. I found this very challenging to assess today. Black cherry aromas and flavors with modest spice and a very woodsy character on both nose and palate. Dense and chewy with firm tannins throughout, slightly drying right now on finish. This will need plenty of cellar time.
