Pleasantly surprised. Dark color, scant nose. Lively on the palate, and not overly fruity, but with some nice tannic structure and real Merlot character. A hint of earthiness, and a moderate finish. Very Bordeaux-like qualities. Have had other wines from Cycles Gladiator that were just "meh," but this was quite impressive for a grocery store wine retailing at around $10. Recommend, and would buy again.
