  • good cork
deep yellow, showing some age but banana not orange
good structure, not heavy, a long even middle and a crisp finish
a blend of softly aged pear with a hint of lemon, has a nice richness to it, classic minerality, plus some honey in the taste and texture.
on a slow decline but still drinking well.

  • Middag med venner: Godteri, ananas og eple, mineraler, ganske kompleks, stor munnfull, glatt. En beiere vin enn MdT04 og med mindre spenst.

  • Nose was corked, but nothing stripped at all on the palate...and as enjoyable as the last two bottles had from same source.

  • bought 3 at release at $75. Best one of all. Powerful and can also tastes all the richness, citrus and mineral. Can go a while longer.

  • Another brilliant Rav from the same restaurant stash we've enjoyed other bottles of the 09 MdT and 10 Butteaux this year from. No more of the others, so our RAV options are shrinking up. Was a little worried about the ripeness of the 05, but decided to go for it anyway...glad we did! Rich and creamy, but not too ripe at all...started out with caramel corn and wonderful yellow fruits...again crystalline purity...fresh cut of citrus and churning ocean energy...classic crushed oyster shell and chalky limestone minerality...dry extract...not as much waxiness and mint as the others had, but still could pick this out as Raveneau easily blind...surprisingly drank better on its own, as the food kind of muted it a little. Another super enjoyable bottle that really satisfies the Rav itch! Would put it behind the other two wines, which had more balance and Raveneau-esk...but would definitely seek out another bottle next time if they have any left!
