Gave this a 2 hour decant based on the last one a few months ago which was quite tight. With some air, this is entering a solid drinking window. Very deeply flavored and well structured, with density on the tongue and a beguiling nose. The fruit is dark red and juicy, very masculine and straightforward, with considerable power for a bourgogne. Paired with a Rush Creek Reserve at peak, but would also worked really nicely with a crispy-skinned roast chicken.

Sight: Medium crimson Nose: Spice, cherry, earth. Just a touch rustic. Palate: Concentrated and elegant with just a hint of rusticity. THe perfect time to drink this.

Possibly the best Bourgogne Rouge I have tasted - assuming that "punches above its weight" is the criteria. On checking I see it's also by far the most expensive Bourgogne Rouge I have ever bought. In fact, it's a ridiculously expensive Bourgogne Rouge. But it's worth it. It's the deep colour that first impresses; it says that this is a quite masculine BR, with body and texture. Plenty of tannins too, fine grained but youthfully forceful. Quality fruit. It's not so much that it needs more time, as it gives such pleasure now, but it would be a shame not to wait for it to reach its peak. dg

Beautiful nose and finesse in body. But of course not the stuffing of higher echelon Roumiers. Ex Roumier Domaine ficofi bottle.
Still possibly best Borgogne ever.

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Fruit” day): Pale ruby to the eye.
Very nicely aromatic and elegant notes of even darker black berries and earthy florals that is quite distinctive to this producer’s style.
Again ultra serious yet elegant on palate, with again tons of minerality and acidity. More approachable now than the 2010 and rightfully so?
94-95 points.
