Probably my favorite Langhe Nebb. Blind it was picked as a top end barbaresco. 13 years old and still in great condition. Fullness of flavour but not overripe. Delicate nose, rose petals, licorice, fine firm tannin. Drink now as its probably not getting better, but not moving anywhere fast either.

Popped and poured. Medium-ruby/orange colour. Very, very pretty aromas of dried cherries, violets, red licorice, leather, dried currants, and a touch of alcohol. Medium-bodied, with more dried red fruits and flowers. Tannins are integrating nicely and the wine shows pretty good balance. The finish is clipped slightly and shows some chalkiness, but there's no denying this is a very satifying Langhe Nebbiolo. Sottimano's Langhe Nebbiolo is sourced solely from the Basarin vineyard, but isn't labeled as a Barbaresco as the family doesn't deem the vines to be old enough yet. A steal for the consumer. Drink now-2020.

Drinking well now. Flowery nose, cherry fruit, and just a touch of dry tar. Sadly, my last bottle. Nice QPR.
