This was tasted next to the same vintage of Vernay Condreiu, to help create a comparison. The Jemrose far surpassed a wine far more in price and lineage, which says a lot about the Jemrose quality and ability to hold flavor and age. Shows some of the glycerine and oily texture with a spicy fennel note. Mandarin orange and lime, too. The spicy quality, with orchard like fruit and limey acid on the finish. Aging very well and for me, no signs of slowing down. Flat out excellent.

Jemrose Dinner @ Marche Moderne in the OC (Marche Moderne, Costa Mesa CA): This drank excellent and showcased what Jim is doing with viognier. This was the first release of the wine, and came from his library, as there is not much of it left. No perceived sweetness. Silky and spicy, with tangerine, orange blossom and an anise seed note. Nice spicy finish, along with a cool orange-sicle note. Excellent, balanced and really stood out. Alc is 14.5%.

taste: suave and fuller feel, but holds it well with rich tones of peaches, white fruits, citrus', and some bits of cream tones
overall: A really good viognier. It didn't show any of the heat that the failla did even though it was also a fairly big wine. Has a good richness to it, the extra layer of depth made it stick out blind vs the failla

I like this better than the 2008, side by side at this point. The 2007 seems clean and dialed in, with mineral and nice weight and a lighter color.
