  • Great for the price. Drinks like it's more expensive than is it. However it's nothing that is going to blow you away.

  • Beau Chablis d'entrée de gamme, frais et digeste.
Belle minéralité même si un peu court et simple.

  • This is a terrific Chablis regionale, so much so that I actually thought it was a solid 1er Cru instead. Popped and poured over a Teochew meal at Mong Hing (celebrating E's birthday) it did take awhile to get going, showing a bit tight and reticent at first. With a bit of time and air though, it gave out a nice bouquet with dollops of sweet cream with a floral touch at the sides, ripe white fruit with a citrus undertone, and then tons of stony mineral aromas. The palate was a bit grumpy at first as well, with a tight, over-bright, almost tart note to it. There was also something rather faintly sulphuric about that palate, even though I ruled out SO2, given how much of a "natural wine" reputation Piuze is getting. Thankfully though, some half-an-hour after pouring, any odd notes faded away and the wine opened up nicely into very pure Chablis notes of lime and white fruit lined by lots of lovely, slighty saline minerality. Where the acidity came across strident and tart at first, it now resolved into a lovely mouthful of juicy, citrus freshness. While still a relatively simple wine, this really showed solid depth and grip for something of its level. I think there is more to come too - this will probably be best after another couple more years in the bottle. I would have no hesitation recommending this as a really good entry-level wine.

  • This is a great lower level Chablis and it definitely shines in a vintage like 2008. Crisp and vibrant with nice minerality.
