Deep colour; a ripe and attractive array of red and black fruits, with sage and licorice strap also on display; the palate is concentrated and full of black fruit and gravelly tannins; the finish is long, expansive and thoroughly impressive; the 14% alc/vol appears to be a good fit for this vineyard.
Love the Heathcotes generally. This is atypical at the moment - a big bruiser of a wine. Not really ready. Should be left another few years before trying again. However, good deep fruit and big tannins to keep us going into the future.
