A decade on from my last bottle of this and time has worked its magic. Bright mid ruby. Nice lift from the Grenache. Some cherry and a hint of Mourvèdre. Quite chiselled. Length and line. ****

Despite beeing opened 5 hours before (not decanted) it come out rather earthy with damp cellartones in the nose. Freshened up in the glass it became opulent, warm and inviting. A classic older wine with lots of elegant plum fruitiness and chocolate. Having a full round taste, medium length, well balanced, it delivered according to expectation. However, I cannot see it improving much more.

Firm tannins, elegant fruit, slightly dirty on the nose, a little bit hot, and with some green notes on the finish make this less exciting but still enjoyable.

Slowly arriving, this is very typical for this somewhat akward vintage; rustiuc with tannin still quite present, plenty of barnyard and garrigue, a local wine. Needs food. #ChezAvril
