Exploring Northern Rhone Syrah (Paris): Complete wine. Ripe wine, concentrated, structure, aristocratic, like tempered steel. It's a baby with a big future.

Heater week; 3/8/2024-3/17/2024 (Chicago, IL): Large-scaled, massive wine with plenty of intensity. Fully black fruit, and leathery, rustic tannins. This really is everything you would expect this wine to be. This should have enough fruit on the palate to survive extended aging, to allow the structure to resolve and intense tannins to soften. I'm bullish on the long-term potential of this.

This is a stunning Syrah and definitely in the top 3 Syrah wines I have ever tasted. The actual flavours don’t really matter (although, I have to admit the wine is full of blackberries, olive tapenade, black pepper and plums). It is the unbelievable, incredible combination of sheer power and concentration with aristocracy and finesse that really blows your mind. It has to be tasted to be believed and this wine is a true wine lover’s icon, all you need to do is wait another 5-10 years as at the moment it still remains really primary which to be honest as per se a marvel to behold. A 97 point wine, and I am trying to be really harsh here. Drink or hold (and go grab as many bottles/cases as you can).

Gift from Alfert. We drank this a little cool. Tasty, inky black. I am sorry I didn’t spend more time with the bottle!
