Paired with a creme brulee that my wife made. This was not as fruity as previous bottles and centered more on tea notes. Only mildly sweet but I would characterize it more on the dry side. The worst showing for this wine so far. Drnk now. 88 points.
During a GE/AUT tasting, encore wine. From 0.375. The 2001 vintage shines through, there is excellent freshness here intermixed with the generous apricot, quince and honey aromas. Youthful even, after almost 25 years. 93+

Last noted 5/16 from 375ml & suggested waiting 7 years. So here we are, 7 years later and from a 750ml.
Color/App: moderately deep gold with high viscosity. Lovely spiced-peach dominant nose with notes of clove and vanilla, mandarin orange, apricots, caramel and botrytis aplenty. Fresh, appealing mouthfeel; acidity could be slightly higher but there's still a good amount and there's a long sweet finish to this. Palate shows caramel covered peaches and apricots, baking spices and a good shot of orange peel with a small hit of pithy bitters that is quite nice. This shows sweet and long and fairly well-balanced at 22 years old. GTG now and 10+ years more I'd say.

For years this wine keeps constantly its fine quality with a convincing balance of sweetness (caramelised pears, abricots and a nuance of Christmas spice) and acidity. Perfect out of 0.375 bottle. Wonderful nectar!
