I was intrigued by the extreme disparity in the reviews of this vintage. However, I was pleasantly surprised! This wine drank great! Decanted two hours. Dark in color, no visible sign of aging. On the nose it does reveal vanilla as is typical for Silver Oak Cab. On the palate it was silky smooth with a pleasing palate of ripe dark berries and mellow spices. Ready to drink now before fruit starts fading.
Excellent bottle. I've become a little jaded about Silver Oak over the years, as their success has created a little cult like following, and the visits to the winery have become nearly unwelcome. But this is a very good wine.

(Silver Oak Alexander Valley) Absolutely pathetic. I have not had Silver Oak in over 5 years and had no idea what to expect. Green as green can be with zero fruit and hard tannins. Bitter and unpleasant. I cannot believe people drink this for "the label." This is horrible wine.
(Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon) VaynerCLANK; NOSE-classic Silver Oak, creamy, milky, oak; TASTE-I don't like at all; disjointed, not showing much structure ; pure muted fruit; complete waste @ $52; GV-85
