  • No details on cork/label but this looks old (no idea when I got it), I’d say 10-15yrs in bottle. No pop but still a gorgeous mousse, deep and full bodied but with high acidity and noticeable tannin. Seems ripe and very low dosage. Very well made - rich and natural oxidation. Amazing combination of Pinot fruit, freshness as if a BdB and a very classy mousse and mouthfeel. The sensations over-ride the palate of crunchy apple, honey and cinnamon- and faintly chalky and floral nose. Great with or without food. I paired with an aged cohiba piramides extra. 94-95pts

    Beau potentiel !

  • Acquired in 2013 as part of a Garagiste "lottery" garage sale case. One of the better performers from that lot, it displayed light straw color and vervy grapefruit nose. Limited effervescence with tiny bubbles that didn't stick around long--reminded me of a fine aged champagne in that respect. Cornucopia of flavors including citrus, tropical fruits, and toasted sourdough, with a long finish. Very nice indeed and a winner with double-creamed brie.

(NV Inflorescence (Cedric Bouchard/NV)) Champagne Dear Friends, Both of these just arrived - I'm sending this out late on a Monday night because (if track record serves) they will be gone very quickly. 2002 in Champagne is the new "2005 Burgundy" and the world market cannot get enough of the wines. As in Burgundy, many of the best wines are made in such limited quantities that their potential investment value is limitless. It seems the world wants to drink great Champagne right now and the two examples below should be high on anyone's list: 2002 Vazart-Coquart Brut Grand Bouquet Grand Cru Chouilly EXTREMELY LIMITED This wine is sophisticated and downright outstanding. Very few bottles of this made their way out of France this year (the 2002's have sold so quickly, it's like a race to acquire the best wines) - only 16 cases for the entire US (not kidding). NV Inflorescence Brut Blanc de Noir EXTREMELY LIMITED You can look up whatever you need to here but for those of you that have been asking, here is the new disgorgement and yes it contains a lot of 2002...fabulous. One of the finest unknown NV wines in Champagne and one of the only wines that rival winemakers will gladly abandon their own creation to taste at a dinner.
