WOW What a wine !

Note to self: needs the Butler's Thief to open future bottles, as the cork broke and the bottom half just crumbled away to dust on trying to extract it. Explosive, room filling black fruits on the nose immediately on opening and continuing to blossom and open up even further. Beautiful colour: maturing, but far from old. Very good, open palate. Feels nicely mature, but nothing excessively secondary. Integrated tannins, leaving just a light sanding on the tongue and cheeks. Intense black fruit, huge, complex depth. Enormous length on finish. Lovely stuff.

375 ml bottle. Bottom half of cork crumbled, but nothing a strainer and decanter couldn't fix. Holding up just fine. Maybe not peak, but none the worse for wear.

Wine of the night for many people in a dinner a few weeks ago. Surprising considering some of the other wines. Very awesome.
